Leveraging Reports in Eureka

If you load Eureka and click on the 'Reports' button on the main toolbar you will be taken to the area of the package which is dedicated to providing management reporting for your business. Here you will find a carefully selected set of management type reports to enable you to fully grasp what is happening within your business at any given time over any period.

The following is a list of some of the available reports along with a sample and brief description of the purpose:

Cost Changes

This report is specifically used to alert managers to the fact that the cost price on one or more products has changed. Large department stores and supermarkets are 'squeezing' the prices on more and more products because of their buying power and influence. It is imperative that you are made aware of events which potentially affect YOUR margin particularly if it is for the worse.

Based on the information contained within this report managers can then look at the products in question and make decisions as to whether or not to increase the selling price to maintain margin.

Product Book

The Eureka Product Book has been designed simply to allow you to produce an internal 'catalog' of products based on a particular criteria. You can choose to print everything or to restrict the list to a specified Supplier or Department. This enables the user to see what products are currently on the system which can aid product reviews or potentially help with deciding which products to delist.

Daily Z-Read Report

At the end of every trading day you will normally perform a Z-Read procedure to enable you to see how business has been that day. Eureka provides this information in an easy to read format. Sales are split by your key departments along with the relevant nominal accounting code for links to accounts systems such as Sage or Pegasus Opera. Also provided is a complete breakdown of the different tender types used to pay for items in terms of Cash, Cheques, Credit Cards and Vouchers. It is also useful to note the addition of the number of customers on this report along with the average spend on the day. Many of the Eureka family of customers use this to plot trends over time which help give you an indication of how many people are passing through your doors and when.
