Main Background

We Made It !!

From the planning well over a year ago to raise vital funds for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air ambulance and Cancer Research UK Woodborough branch, I can’t believe it is all behind us.

Ross and I set off to Tanzania on 2nd October with Ross not in great form, sadly a slipped disc some weeks earlier had ended his chance to climb before it had started.

The weather was perfect for the whole journey with temperatures well in the mid 20s by day down to minus 20 at night.

I arrived on the roof of Africa, Uhuru Peak 5,895 metres on Friday 8th October at 7.45am Tanzania time, after four days walking and four nights under canvas, I was elated not only to have reached the summit but to be well on the way to achieving the £10,000 target we set ourselves eight months ago. Two days to walk down and meet up with Ross again, to have a beer celebration with my guide and a really good shower!

Thank you too many of you for continuing to support us in this charity effort...

I've posted some pictures of our adventure in the Kibo Gallery... Have a look!

Challenge Information

One of our most valued customers has taken up the challenge to climb Kilimanjaro in October of this year and we are proud to offer our support for this worthy cause.

This is your chance to help Georgie & Ross Mason from Gonalston Farm Shop to raise vital funds for these two amazing charities:
Georgie & Ross are keen supporters of both these charities. Georgie decided last year that she wanted to do the Kilimanjaro climb; Ross soon came on board with the idea to raise £10,000 for the charities.

Both Georgie and Ross take part in dangerous pursuits on a regular basis, Ross on motor bikes, Georgie on horses. You never know when you may need the helicopter!

Similarly, we all know many people who have benefitted from the important breakthroughs in the treatment of cancer and we all want this vital research to continue.

We are aiming to help Georgie & Ross towards their target by aiming to raise £500.

It's easy to get involved and help.

How You can Help

We are sending "Kibo", our nominated mascot, around farm shops to help raise awareness of the Summit Climb.

He will start off at Gonalston Farm Shop this week and will be sent on from there to another business for his next photo shoot.

If you are lucky enough to receive Kibo in the post then all you have to do is this:
  • Take some photos of Kibo with You & Your Staff Team; (Wacky or otherwise!)
  • Forward the Photo(s) to all@lccs.co.uk and we will put them in our Kibo Gallery;
  • We will then donate £10 towards Georgie and Ross' Kilimanjaro Challenge Fund..
Once you're ready send him on to someone else of YOUR choosing in one of the following market sectors:
  • Farm Shops
  • Garden Centres
  • Delis
  • Butchers
  • Coffee Shops
  • Cheese Shops
  • Green Grocers
IMPORTANT: Finally, give Georgie a call or e-mail her to let her know where Kibo's going next so we can keep track of his whereabouts!
