Help! Please 'take over' my PC ...
If you have a high speed internet connection (eg ADSL Broadband) we are now able
to offer a secure remote control service which helps us provide you with a faster
and more efficient resolution to your problem. This lets us 'take over' your PC so that we can see
exactly what is on your screen and control your mouse and keyboard.
Here are some answers to common questions we are asked :-
1. My data is important to me. How secure is this technology?
Our chosen system uses the latest 256bit Encryption to ensure that all data sent
across the Internet can not be intercepted or viewed by anyone except us.
2. Can you connect to my system when I'm not here?
No. Our support staff can only connect to your PC when you specifically ask us to
by clicking on the link opposite.
3. What can you do on my system?
When we 'take over' your PC we can do almost anything that you can do on your PC.
We will have control of your Keyboard & Mouse, and can see everything on your
screen. If you have confidential information open on your screen you should close
it down before initiating a connection.
You can terminate our remote control session at any time by right clicking on the
icon at the bottom of the screen and selecting "Exit".
4. Do I need to reconfigure my network?
Usually not. You connect out to us, rather than us connecting
in to you, so in most circumstances you will not need to change anything
on your system. If you have internet access on your PC then most likely we will
be able to connect to you.
5. How do I connect?
- Click on the link to the right (Connect to my PC now)
- Select Run on the Security Warning
- Select Run again on the Unknown Publisher Warning
- If you are running Windows Vista, or another third party firewall you may be prompted
to Allow/Deny this program access to the Internet. Choose Allow
- You should see a screen similar to the one below. Enter the "one time login number"
which will be given to you by your LCCS support engineer and press Connect.
