Social Responsibility

We genuinely aim to make a difference

Over the years we have supported many local and national charities, supported local businesses and helped inspire the next generation of software developers and technical specialists thanks to our work experience placements.

Lakeland Computers aims to exceed the norm in both our work and our community engagement. That’s why we are always actively seeking out new ways that we can help create the best society alongside our friends, neighbours, and colleagues.

Our responsibilities fall into three broad roles:

  • Investing In Our Community
  • Supporting Charitable Giving
  • Taking Care of Our Team and Our Customers

And here is how we go about meeting that call:

Investing in our community

Junior Entrepreneur Programme

Junior Entrepreneur Programme | Irvinestown Primary School

Lakeland Computers is proud to support the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. The scheme has alumni of over 26,000 children who have been inspired to create entrepreneurial businesses right inside their classrooms throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Every child proposes an idea and, during the 12-16 week programme, one suggestion is selected as the class business. Each child invests a small amount of capital in the enterprise and receives their share of the profits. Not just a plan, the entire business is conceived from scratch with real products and services and crucially, real customers who pay for what is produced during the school showcase day.

Supporting Local Businesses

Supporting Local Businesses | Enniskillen Castle

We are proud of where we come from and, as an independent Northern Ireland company, we want to help others like us, prosper. That means supporting locals who are working hard to make their business a success too.

For us, that’s the local bakeries, grocers, coffee bars, sandwich shops and catering companies to make sure we keep the team and visitors well fed. When it comes to our nights out we always support the amazing local restaurants and bars in and around Enniskillen.

Supporting Charitable Giving

Save The Children

Charitable Giving | Save The Children

All around the world, helpless children are suffering through no fault of their own. It’s heartbreaking, there’s just no other word for it. Team Lakeland help to raise money for Save The Children by getting involved in the Christmas Jumper Day event.

We hold a “bake-off”, run silly competitions and generally do as much whacky stuff as we can to raise valuable funds for this incredibly worthy cause. Aside from being fantastic fun, we always get great support from our friends, family and amazing customers. Doing Good… Feels Good.

Multiple Sclerosis Society

Charitable Giving | Multiple Sclerosis Society

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition which can affect the brain and/or spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance.

It’s a lifelong condition that can sometimes cause serious disability, although it can occasionally be mild. In many cases, it’s possible to treat symptoms. Average life expectancy is slightly reduced for people with MS.

It’s estimated that there are more than 100,000 people diagnosed with MS in the UK.

It’s most commonly diagnosed in people in their 20s and 30s, although it can develop at any age. It’s about two to three times more common in women than men. [Source: NHS.uk]

Jo Fielder is a long term friend of the Lakeland Computers’ Team and we show our support whenever possible. Jo is a fighter and, to her credit, took on walking The Ridgeway National Trail – 87 miles in total over 7 consecutive days. Unsurprisingly, Jo’s determination saw her complete this amazing trek and she continues to find new ways to challenge herself and combat this debilitating condition.

Caring for Our Customers

We strive to make certain that every aspect of our business operates according to the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and by understanding our clients’ needs and goals we build long-term relationships with our customers. People, who, over time, become close personal friends. That only happens when you treat people the right way and look after them consistently.

We have a passion for excellence and we take pride in our ability to solve your problems, focusing on delivering innovative solutions in a timely and friendly manner.

Don’t take our word for it though, read what our customers think of us and the work we do.
